Direct-acting NC 2/2 Way Stainless Steel Solenoid Valve Water Treatment Valve 2S500-50
Normally Closed 2 way valve 2S500-50 Solenoid Valve has a type 304 stainless steel valve body and 2” female NPT ports. And it can be mounted in any position. It is well suited to use with potable water systems as well as other applications, including those requiring food grade equipment.
The threaded input and output connections are both 2” female NPT. Use of an inline filter is always recommended with solenoid-operated valves to ensure the diaphragm properly seals.

Solenoid Valve Specifications and Dimensions:
An electric current through the coil creates a magnetic field.
The magnetic field exerts a force on the plunger.
As a result, the plunger is pulled toward the centre of the coil so that the orifice opens.
This is the basic principle that is used to open and close solenoid valves.
How to Choose Seal of Solenoid Valve:
NBR
nitrileare probably the most economical and widely used elastomer out there. This material has a desirable set of properties including low compression set, high resistance to abrasion and good tensile strength.
Temperature range: Effective from -40°C to 120°C
Suitability: General purpose, particularly in areas where the seal will be exposed to hydrocarbons, oils, petrol, water and hydraulic fluids
Benefits: Excellent abrasion and tear resistance, cost effective
Limitations: Nitrile is not good at resisting degradation by ozone or weather
Nitrile rubber's material properties make it an excellent solution for sealing applications.
It also has excellent resistance to petroleum products and can be compounded for service of temperatures up to 250°F (121°C). With these temperature resistances, the right nitrile rubber compounds can withstand all but the most severe automotive applications.
Examples of applications and industries where nitrile (NBR, buna-N) is used include: Automotive Industry ; Bowling Industry; Oil & Gas Industry
Viton
FKM/FPM for short. This material has an excellent tolerance for high temperatures, resistance to oils, fuels and hydraulic fluids as well as aromatics and solvents.
Various types of FKM/FPM/Viton are available, with varying amounts of fluorine additions which increase performance in specific situations.
Temperature range: From -40°C up to 250°C
Suitability: Good for use in high temperature situations or where chemicals are being used. As well as resisting oils, petrol and hydrocarbons, Viton is resistant to mineral acids, halogenated hydrocarbons and more.
Benefits: Resistant to the majority of chemicals, as well as to degradation by UV, weather, ozone and mould.
Limitations: Less tolerant of low temperatures
For example, Viton with a service temp. of -45°C to +275°C will also resist the effects of thermal cycling, which are encountered during the rapid ascent and descent of aircraft from the stratosphere.
Examples of applications and industries where Viton is used include: Aerospace & Aircraft Industry; Automotive Industry; Food Industry;Pharmaceutical Industry
