How to increase Q value of solenoid valve coil?

Choose the wire of the coil according to the working frequency. Inductors with short working and low frequency are usually fired with insulated wire such as enameled wire. The operating frequency is higher than tens of thousands of Hz. In circuits below 2MHz, multi-strand insulated wires are used to wind electromagnetic coils, which can effectively increase the surface area of the conductor and make the Q value higher than that of single-wire wound coils with the same cross-sectional area. Use high quality coil bobbins to reduce dielectric losses. In high frequency applications such as short wave, the dielectric loss is very high due to the winding of the ordinary coil. Therefore, high-frequency dielectric materials such as high-frequency ceramics, ptfe, and polystyrene should be used as the framework and wound by winding method.

Choose a reasonable coil size to minimize damage. When winding thickness T, winding length L and outer diameter D satisfy 3T + 2L = D, the loss is also minimal. Shielded coils are optimal when L/D = 0.8-1.2.
